Show yjews looted . . . Dr. and Mrs. Don Parker (Colleen Lewis) and five children chil-dren of Ames, Iowa, have spent this week with relatives and friends in Springville and in Provo. They were the house guests of Mrs. Parker's parents, par-ents, Mr.- and Mrs. Martin Lewis in Springville and also visited others of her family. Dr. Parker is engaged in research re-search work at the college at Ames and Colleen is continuing her study of art. They are also prominent in LDS church work in Ames. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Johnson and daughter Tracy and a nephew, nep-hew, Roland Senior, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max . Senior, have returned re-turned home from an enjoyable stay in Washington D.C. Reed was on an assignment to the Pentagon in the National Guard Bureau and he and his wife and daughter have been there three months, while Roland went out by plane about two and a half weeks ago and returned re-turned home with them. The Johnsons enjoyed a visit to New York where they were guests of Byron Wardle and also visited Dr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam R. Martin (Carma Cran-dall) Cran-dall) in Baltimore, Md. They visited the White House, Mt. Vernon, Arlington and numerous numer-ous other places of interest in the national capitol; also Gettysburg, Get-tysburg, where they saw the "battle" enacted as part of the July 4th celebration. They also toured Williamsberg, the wax museum and the Pentagon, among many important places. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Jerrol Boyer and family and went on a picnic and to church with them. Roland also enjoyed the many historical places and the ball games. Enroute home, they called on Mr. and Mrs. Charles Turner (Lucille Oakley) formerly of Springville. Robert Crandall is in New York City attending a company orientation before leaving with his wife and daughter Roxane, to make their home in Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., where he will be a CPA with the Haskins and Sells Co. Mrs. Crandall is the former LaRae Fietkau. Robert, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Crandall of this city, ,was an honor student graduating from the BYTJ this year. Among the many near relatives rela-tives who attended funeral services ser-vices here recently for Dea Miner Mi-ner were his son Reed Miner and wife of Pasadena, Calif.; a daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. David 'Alma Williams of Ogden; brothers and sisters, John Miner of Bakersfield, Calif.; Lauren Miner and wife of Visalia, Calif.; Alda Alleman of Salt Lake City and Meda Ellsworth of Payson; Lynn and George Miner and wife of Magna. Mag-na. Mrs. Adah Jessee left this this week to spend' about two months at Roosevelt with a brother Theo Phillips and will also visit other relatives and many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Higbee and family ""of Winnemucca, Nev., have been visiting with Mrs. Higbee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clark. Mr. Higbee Hig-bee has returned and his wife Janice and the children including in-cluding son Larry, who is around on crutches as a result of a car accident last May, will visit a few days longer. |
