Vernon of the BYU social- - ogy department, on Thursday evening. Mrs. Beverly Clark was hos-tess and served a nicely ar-ranged lunch to club members and guests including Mrs. Ra-Na- e Curtis and Mrs. Vernon, wife of the speaker. Mr. Vernon compared the woman today with her pioneer grandmother in discussing the part the modern housewife plays in the world today. He told how woman's place in years past, was in the home while today he reported, a big percent of the labor market is women and one third of the women who work are married. Mrs. LaRae Stewart was elected president of the club for next year, succeeding Mrs. Maryn Jacobsen; Mrs. Norma Jenkins is the new Mrs. Ruth Payne, sec-retary and Mrs. Bonnie Snel1-son- , treasurer. The 'program was in charge of Mrs. Barbara Hafen. |
