Mrs. Lula Shepherd gave the first installment of a history of her great grandfather, James Holt, which was written in interest-ing diary form. Cultural Arts Club celebrates birthday Mrs. Ross Ellis honored as the only charter member of the pultural Arts club at its birthday party Thursday, was elected president of the club for next year. The club celebrated its 20th anniversary at the election meeting held at the home of Mrs. George Wright with Mrs. Ray Whiting, Mrs. Janice Higbee and daughter Delia Dee have re-turned to their home in a, Nev., after a week's visit with Mrs. Higbee's par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clark in Springville. I- r v .? i Sheldon Bartholomew, senior at high school, son of Mr. and Mrs .Sheldon Bartholo-mew, has been offered a $300 Sears-Roebuc- k Founda-tion scholarship to the USU, Logan, one of four Utah county youths from 13 high schools throughout the state. The winners were selected on the basis of high scholar-ship, leadership ability, in-terest in agriculture and need. The young men must enroll in the college of ag-riculture for study in one of several of general agricul-ture, during their freshman year. |
