Show Mapiefon lefs headfcouse job; firemen organize A contract was let on a bid of $12,250 from Del Pre-Cast Concrete Products of Maple-ton, Maple-ton, for the construction of a headhouse at the mouth of Maple canyon, by the Mapleton City Council this week. The improvement, will be a step forward in conserving culinary water for the fast growing community of Maple-ton. Maple-ton. The resignation of Dell Whitney as chairman of the Mapleton Planning committee, was accepted by the Council which also authorized the mayor may-or to negotiate with Max Roundy for a plot of ground on which to build the new headhouse. The Mapleton city Fire Department De-partment is organized, it was announced this week, with Johnnie Bleggi elected chief; Joseph Carnesecca, first assistant; assis-tant; Fay Jensen, second assistant; as-sistant; Neil Steiner, secretary-treasurer; Norman Graves, Grav-es, chairman; Doug Bills, assistant as-sistant chairman. A preliminary step in the organization of the fire department depart-ment at Mapleton was taken at a meeting Monday at 7:30 p.m., at the new Fire Station. All men interested in the organization or-ganization of the Mapleton department were invited to attend. at-tend. Through an agreement with Springville city, the 1941 fire truck owned by Springville will be housed at the recently completed fire station at Mapleton, for use when needed by Mapleton. Also if needed by Springville, it will be available. |
