Memorial Trophy Yill Honor Coaching Career A special trophy to honor the memory of the late Wilford Mower, former well-known resident resi-dent of Springville who passed away August 18, as result of an automobile accident at Pinedale, Wyo., will be established estab-lished according to word received re-ceived from the district superintendent. super-intendent. The trophy will go to the top senior athlete in both A and B Schools in the Wyoming Basin, the Big Horn Basin Assn. of School Administrators has decided, and will be presented pre-sented annually. Wilford, who was track coach and teacher of junior high orientation at Riverton high school had previously made outstanding records as coach at both Byron and Lovell class B high schools. Establishment of the trophy was encouraged by the coaches throughout thebasin with whom Wilford had . been closely associated as-sociated and met with the full approval of the school Administration. Admin-istration. Mrs. Mower who was a passenger pas-senger in the car at the time of the accident in which their daughter-in-law, also lost her life, has resumed her teaching duties at Riverton. The son and the six-months old baby who was also hurt in the accident, reside at the Mower home. |
