I Devils Take Two i Coach Alma Garrett's club j won two more contests during ; the past week, the first which I ! was their 59-47 victory over J j . the Uintah Utes at Vernal. ' i Last Thursday, they traveled to Bingham and came from j a 30-19 halftime deficit to j j chalk up a 63-50 win over the ' j Miners. The Devils were led J by the 22 point performance of ! Elliott Jordan who caught fire I and played one of his best games to date. George Black ably assisted in the score column col-umn with 18 counters and worked well on the boards. Tommy Alvey came in mighty handy with an 11 point splurge. Springville's foul pitching record showed 11 out of 20. Bingham started the game out with a whirlwind of quick baskets and before the Devils could get their bearings, the Miners had slapped an 11 point lead against them. Jordan Jor-dan and Black led the third quarter rally for Springville as they rang up 29 points while holding the Miners to 8. Quarter scores follow: Springville 11 19 48 63 Bingham 16 30 38 50 A comparative game score with Orem and Bingham showed show-ed the Orem team chalking up slightly better showing than the Devils although the Orem club enjoyed a home floor advantage ad-vantage in their contest. |
