Mr. and Mrs. Carting- Childs and two children of Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., were holiday visitors visi-tors at the home of Carling's mother, Mrs. Erva Childs in Springville. Visiting and having dinner with Mr. and Mrs. George Sim-kins Sim-kins Saturday were: Mrs. Parley Par-ley White, Mr. and Mrs. John Jay and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Clegg of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence White of Beaver. Mr. White is a twin brother to Mrs. Simkins. Mr. and Mrs. Virl Harrison Accompanying her to Springville Spring-ville was Miss Loretta Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Clin-ton Young of Mapleton, who is a room-mate of Miss Hazel. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Boy-er Boy-er and daughter Naomi spent the Christmas holidays in California. Cali-fornia. They visited friends and a daughter Ruth Ann Boyer in San Francisco and also enjoyed church services and a choir Christmas musical there on Sunday. After a three-day stay they were accompanied by Ruth Ann and her fiancee Leon Randall of Ogden, to Fresno, Calif., where they spent Christmas Christ-mas with Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Donithqrne (Pauline Boyer) and children Dennis and De-lane. De-lane. A delicious turkev dinner. in the engineering department of Douglas Aircraft. Making the trip to Springville with her was Miss Jane Ivie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Ivie, who also is employed in Ingle-wood Ingle-wood and a friend from Brig-ham Brig-ham City. The girls spent six days here and left by plane from Salt Lake City at 5 a.m. Thursday to be' at work that morning. Mr. and Mrs. Sum-sion Sum-sion took them to Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Ence enjoyed en-joyed a holiday visit the past week from their daughter and son-in-law, Orson and Elaine Tolman who are making their home at Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mex-ico. The Tolmans also spent some time with his parents in Orem. Mrs. Mary Witney returned home Sunday from Mesa, Ariz., where she spent the Christmas holidays with a brother Bill Hill and wife. She reports the weather just like summer in the southern state. Mrs. Sarah Jane Davis has gone to Mesa, Ariz, to visit with a sister and brother-in-law from Burley, Ida. who come to Mesa each winter, to do temple work. Mrs. Davis plans to be gone about a month and will also do some temple work. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lover-idge Lover-idge and two children Michael and Susan of Santa Monica, Calif., spent the holidays in Springville with Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Martindale and other relatives rel-atives and friends. and six daughters returned to their home in Los Angeles Sunday, after spending a ten-day ten-day holiday vacation in Utah. They enjoyed two Christmas days during their stay, the first in Ogden with Mrs. Harrison's Har-rison's parents, Congressman and Mrs. H. Aldous Dixon on December 20, a few days early before the Dixons left for Washington D. C. and then again in Springville on December Decem-ber 25, as guests of Virl's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harrison. Virl does army auditing audit-ing work in California. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dalton and three children spent the Christmas holidays in Springville Spring-ville with Mr. Dalton's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Dalton, Dal-ton, returning Tuesday to their home in St. George, where Robert is an instructor in Dixie College. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crandall ; spent the Christmas holidays ! in Cleveland, visiting their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. J and Mrs. Clark Fullmer and j baby. Clark is enrolled in Den- j tal school in Ohio. j Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hazel enjoyed a visit from their daughter Annette who was here for the holidays from Los Angeles, Calif., where she is , employed with an electrical company. She returned to the j coast by plane New Years Day. singing Christmas carols, watching wat-ching little Delane Donithorne take his first steps, and making tape recordings was climaxed by a phone call from the Boy-ers' Boy-ers' son Larsen, serving a mission mis-sion in the East Central States to make a most wonderful Christmas for them all. Mrs. J. Ray Clark entertained enter-tained for her mother, Mrs. George Carroll and her sisters, Mrs. Clifton Pyne and Mrs. Arthur Sumsion at their new home at 1150 Hillcrest Dr. one day during the holidays. The Clarks recently moved from their home at 20 North on Second east to the new location. loca-tion. Mrs. Zelma Beardall spent Christmas in Phoenix, Ariz., with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Beardall Bear-dall and children Sherry, Brent and Dale, returning home on Monday. She also called on Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hill at Mesa, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Beardall moved last July from Fort Duchesne to Phoenix, where he is employed in the Department of Interior, Indian Service. Miss Carolyn Sumsion, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. La-celle La-celle Sumsion, was home for Christmas making the trip to and from Inglewood, Calif., by plane. She is employed at Inglewood In-glewood as a private secretary |
