Show Pioneer Family Sets '58 Reunion Plans are announced this week for the first reunion of the Johnson family to be held at the City Park and Third-Ninth Third-Ninth ward church on Saturday, Satur-day, June 28. Relatives number into many hundreds descending from three brothers, Aaron, Lorenzo and Huntington Johnson. Aaron led a company of 135 wagons to Utah in 1850 and was among the first eight families to come to Springville in that year He served as first bishop here for 20 years. His brother Lorenzo, a early day mayor of Springville Spring-ville came in 1852. Huntington died at an early age; also a nephew. Davis Clark came with the Lorenza Johnson family. Officers of the family organization organ-ization include: D. LaRell Johnson, John-son, president; Jennie Thorn Sanford, vice-president; May Weight Johnson, secretary and treasurer; Margaret J. Miner, research chairman. These offi-sers offi-sers have been assisted by representatives from each branch of the family in securing secur-ing names and information concerning descendants. The reunion ( committee included: in-cluded: Mr. and Mrs. Nello Sudweeks, Ila Clyde Cook, Thora M. Dalley, Eugenia S. Bird, Belle C. Thomas, Myra Warren, Floss Cates, Julia J. Sumsion, Laura Little, Marilyn Tuttle, Cora Lee Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Whiting, and general chairman Dr. Richard Rich-ard K. Miner, assisted by Zina Johnson and Jennie T. Sanford, program. |
