Motion unanimous. A copy of a letter written to Waterworks Equipment Co requesting information with re-gards to correction of sand in the flowing well at Lake Shove school property was read by the clerk. He presented copy of letter to Otto Buehner & Co. calling for quotations on installation of grille where the doors were removed at the Payson and Spanish Fork high schools. The clerk reported gas con-nection ordered for Peteetnest, Jefferson, Sage Creek, Spanish Fork Southwest elementary and Payson southwest elemen-tary schools. Glen W. Sumsion, Attorney waited on the Board present-ing resolution prepared by the Bond attorneys in the sale of one million dollar bond issue .by Nebo Board of Education. Muffler Required on Motor Vehicles Escape of Fumes and Smoke. (a) 1 No person shall operate a motor vehicle within the limits of this city unless such vehicle is equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive 1 or unusual noise and annoying smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cutout, by-pas- s, or similar device upon a motor vehicle within the limits of this city. Said muffler shall be at least as effective in the reduction of exhaust noises of the vehicle motor as the type of muff- - ler furnished by the manufacturer of said ve- - hide as standard equipment for purposes of the first sale at retail of vehicles of the same class. 5 (b) No person shall operate a motor ve-- hide within the limits of this city unless the S engine and power mechanism is so equipped and adjusted as to prevent the escape of ex- - jj cessive fumes or smoke. s Section 7. Violation Misdemeanor. s Any person doing any act forbidden or failing to perform any act required in this or- - dinance shall be deemed guilty of a misde- - meanor. 0 Section 8. Children and officers and tea-chers will take part.
