Show Seal of Approval Insures Quality Of Wood Windows The home owner depends on his windows as much as on any other component of the house perhaps even more. He expects them to keep out cold and rain, let in air and light, provide security against intruders, open easily, close tightly, and be easy to clean. At the same time, he expects them to look good from the outside, out-side, and to be an aid, rather than a deterrent, to decorating inside. Families planning to buy new windows, either for remodeling or building, or' who are shopping shop-ping for a new house, should be aware of the importance of windows win-dows to their future welfare. One way to determine top quality in windows is to look for the seal of approval of the American Wood Window Institute Insti-tute affixed to double-hung, awning, casement, and fixed windows of ponderosa pine. The seal assures that the window win-dow meets the rigid specifications specifica-tions of the U. S. Department of Commerce. |
