Show Student to Train At CUV School A special group of High School seniors will start training train-ing at the Central Utah Vocational Voca-tional School November 15. The students selected will receive training on Saturdays in drafting, draft-ing, machining, and inspection. The students will be eligible for an additional full-time training course after graduation gradua-tion from high school. Upon completion of the training train-ing course, the students will enter jobs in the field of their training at the Sperry Utah Engineering Laboratories in Salt Lake City. Starting rate of pay will be $1.80 per hour. Each of the students are interviewed inter-viewed by a representative of the Sperry Company prior to acceptance for the training. The initial screening of students stu-dents for the course is completed com-pleted by the Utah State Employment Em-ployment Service. Selection is made on the basis of aptitudes as indicated on the Employment Employ-ment Service School General Aptitude tests. Specific physical physi-cal requirements must be met and character of the trainee is also considered. All students must have completed or be enrolled en-rolled in high school Algebra. Although the present train- ing course is limited to torty qualified students, there is an indication that programs offering offer-ing specialized training to men and women of the growing grow-ing industries in the state of Utah will be expanded as fast as the facilities are provided. During the past year, the Central Cen-tral Utah Vocational School has trained one group of forty students, all of whom are now employed at Sperry Utah Engineering. En-gineering. Two additional groups are presently being trained at the school. Students who are interested in the opportunity to receive this specialized training may receive additional details by contacting their high school counselor or the Provo Employment Employ-ment Service office. |
