Mr., Mrs. Frank Sanford to Mark 50th Wedding Anniversary Sun. was born April 4, 1887, a daughter of well-known residents resi-dents Jos. A. and Eliza Johnson John-son Thorn. She has been especially es-pecially active in church work and musical circles both here and in Idaho. She served as ward Relief Society president and as stake president and also as chorister and organist in Idaho. She is now Relief Society So-ciety chorister of her ward and genealogical leader in the M. LA. She is a charter member of the Mothers Study club and sang- for several vears with the Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sanford will be honored on the occasion occa-sion of their 50th wedding anniversary an-niversary with an Open House at their home, 64 South Second Sec-ond West Sunday December 21, from 2 until 6 p.m. An invitation invi-tation is extended to their many relatives and friends to attend. Both natives of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Sanford have spent much of their married life in Idaho and Nevada, returning re-turning to Utah and to this city a few years ago. Mr. Sanford was born February Feb-ruary 2, 1882, a son of early settlers, Cyrus and Mary Jane Hunt Sanford. He farmed in the vicinity of Richfield. Ida. for approximately 25 years later going to Nevada where he operated a ranch at Lamoille. La-moille. They lived in Salt Lake two years before coming to Springville. Presently holding the position posi-tion of High Priest, Mr. Sanford San-ford has worked in the Mutual as superintendent and also as first counselor to the bishop while living in Idaho. Mrs. Jennie Thorn Sanford Springville Bel Canto chorus. Presently she sings with the singing Mothers of the Provo area, directed by Florence Jep-person Jep-person Madsen. She is also secretary sec-retary of the Springville Federated Fed-erated Music club; vice president presi-dent of the Johnson family organization or-ganization and a member of the DUP in which she has held offices. Mr. and Mrs. Sanford were morried Dec. 16, 1908 and later la-ter received their endowments in the Salt Lake Temple. They are parents of four sons and daughters with three living: Hunt Sanford of Elko, Nev.; Frank Sanford Jr., of Seattle, Wash, and Mrs. Leon (Eliza) Giles of Springville. A daughter daugh-ter Josephine S. Hubbard, died in 1947 and Mr. and Mrs. Sanford San-ford took the three grandchildren grandchil-dren two boys, Ray Hubbard now of Deeth, Nev., and Mich-ale Mich-ale Hubbard serving with the airforce, and the girl, Cora-jean Cora-jean H. Viegler of Elko, Nev. to rear. The Sanfords have 12 grandchildren grand-children and one great grandchild, grand-child, all of whom with other members of the family, will join in celebrating the anniversary anni-versary with trips home or special messages and good wishes. |
