Show proved and on motion council adjourned. : J: CITY COUNCIL MATTERS. ' June 15, 1903. Council met in regular session, Mayor Anderson presiding. Roll called, all members present. Joseph S. Snow petitioned to V have water for 2 acres transferred ' from ditch No. 9 to ditch No. 1. Councilman Tennant moved the petition be granted, with the con- sent of owners Id both ditches; carried. David Shand petitioned to have a larger amount of water for his school section land, as he only got 24 hours of water for 40 acres of "" land for irrigation purposes. Coun- -w cilman Tnttle moved the petition . - , be tabled; carried. " "Warren C. Snow inquired if the v quarter block east of Jens Mickel- son's block is for sale. Referred "-T.. to committee on Public Grounds. s- The Waterinaster reported all the ' reservoirs were full of water. The south fork was in good condition, lie considered there should be a good substantial weir placed in the Patten ditch at the mouth of the canyon. Report accepted. The Mayor reported with respect to the water from the Temple for use in cemetery, that surplus water could be had at a nominal rental per annum. Report accepted. The committee on dam reported that the earthen portion of the dam had been riprapped and is now in a safe condition. Report accepted. The Tuttle special committee appointed to negotiate for right-of-way for new road at mouth of canyon can-yon and new creek channel, reported report-ed that Mrs. Sidwell was willing to take 5530.00 for the same; and in ' addition she would deed to the city a certain parcel of land on Sixth South street, east, bordering on "road. The committee recommended recommend-ed the city to accept. The recommendation recom-mendation was approved and the amount appropriated. The Irrigation committee reported report-ed on the petitton of Louis Tuttle that they considered the city did all required of it when the city put the water in at the head ditch. Report Re-port accepted. The following resolution was - agreed to: Resolved, that the Mayor is hereby here-by authorized to sign the contract with the Manti Light and Power company for street lighting for the year from May 20th, 1903. Ayes: Councilmen Tennant, Becker, Mad-sen, Mad-sen, Tuttle, Jensen. Nays, none. Following bills were presented and allowed: Fred Jensen, labor on dam $266.55 Alfred Alder, labor by sundry sun-dry persons on creek. . . 27.65 Andrew II.
