Show CITY COUNCIIJATTERS. May 13, 1903. Council met in special session, Mayor Anderson presiding. Roll called, Councilman Tennant absent. The Mayor stated the business of the meeting was to take into consideration the proposition relative rela-tive to the John Patten reservoir. Councilman Tuttle moved that the city give to John Patten and his associates nine days flow of water equal in amount, and at the same time, as in the past, for their reservoir res-ervoir rights and interests in Manti canyon. On roll call, Councilmen Jensen and Madsen voted no, and Councilmen Tuttle and Becker voted vo-ted yes. The Mayor voted yes. Councilman Tuttle moved that the Mayor and Councilman Becker be a committee to meet with John Patten and associates in relation to above offer. Minutes read and approved and on motion council adjourned. May 18, 1903. Council met in regular session, Mayor Anderson presiding. Roll called, all members present. Louis Tuttle petitioned for a divider di-vider to bo put it: at the ditch used by himself, Fred W. Cox and Win, T. Reid. On motion referred to committee on Irrigation. The Watermaster reported the Cottonwood reservoir had been put in good condition. Report was accepted. The construction committee reported re-ported they had visited the dam at mouth of the canyon, and the work was expected to be finished tomorrow to-morrow (Tuesday). They also reported re-ported the road was finished and in good condition. Report accepted. The special committee appointed to confer with John Patten and associates, reported they had seen the parties and a contract had been drawn up by the city attorney. Accepted. The petition of M. II. Sperry for leave to place an awning over the sidewalk in front of his place of business, was referred to committee on Streets and Alleys. Councilman Jensen moved that $5.00 be appropriated for Recorder's Record-er's contingent expenses; carried. Councilman Becker moved the following resolution: "Be it resolved re-solved by the city council of Manti city, that the paving tax levied on Paving District No. 1, of Manti city on the 21st day of April, 1902, and which otherwise would become delinquent on the 1st day of June, 1903, be and the same is extended so that said tax becomes delinquent on the 1st day of November, 1903, and that this resolution in no way affects tax, or the collection thereof, there-of, save as to extending the time of delinquency and collection thereof for five months." On roll call, the ayes were five; nays, none. The |
