The Tillicums knocked another corner off tho prospective $10,000 which the Bees were to e;t if they won the pennant, by taking tho second game of tho series today, 8 to 7. The Hces at one time had a five-run advantage and it looked as though things were going against tho honio-towners honio-towners by long odds. The Seattle de-ienao de-ienao braced, however, tho offense got into action and the game was put into Mullen's bat .bag. ' ' With the score 7 to 5 in tho visitors' favor the Tillicums stepped into their Inst half of the ninth, made three runs, . won tho game . and went off home happy. Jack Knight was the chief enemy the Bees encountered today. Jack laced out throe triples and a single, one of his ' three baggers coming in the ninth in-'ning in-'ning to score the tying winning runs. . Al Gould and Elmer Reiger essayed 16 pitch. Both were hammered for long-distanco clouts, triples being the order of the day. : Reiger started out with a lack of control and forced in a run for the visitors in the very first inning. Three fat hits and a hit batsman gave the Bees three runs in the fourth, in which inning Knight 's triple and Compton Comp-ton 's double scored the first run for Seattle. The Bees made two more in the fifth, ' which sot them at a 6-1 position. The ; Tillicums came back strong, however, making four and bringing them to within one of the opposition. Knight's triple cleaned a full house and he came across himself on an error. In the sixth the Bees made their last tally, it requiring three two-baggers to do it. .The ninth decided the issue in favor of the. locals. French led off with a hit and Lnpau, batting for Reiger, also hit safely, French going to third. He scored on n sacrifice fly. Walsh was walked and both he and Thomas, the latter running for Lapan, scored on Knight's third three-base hit of the day. SALT LAKE. AB. R. H. PO. A. E. Maggert, cf B 1 3 4 1 0 .
