Show THREE UTAH SAILORS GAIN PROMOTIONS Word of the promotion of three Utah sailors was received yesterday at the Salt Lake navy recruiting office. The men are Clarence H. Robinson. 223 Edith avenue. ave-nue. Salt Lake, who has been promoted from seaman to electrician; Henry H. Mc-Candle. Mc-Candle. 381 North Main street. Salt Lake, promoted from gunner's mate, second class, to gunner's mate, first class, and Melvln F.. Jones of Logan, who has been promoted from seaman, second class, to seaman, first class. Lieutenant Commander Richard R. Mann, senior naval officer on recruiting duty in the district of Utah, said yesterday yester-day that the navy department has adopted adopt-ed as a permanent policy the notification of recruiting offices whenever a sailor from the district receives a promotion. Lieutenant Commander Mann said the policy has been adopted to keep home folks posted and to stimulate recruiting among the sailor's friends. |
