S. church, Juno 1, as well ay the conference meetings of the M. I. A., Kclief society, Sunday school, Primary association and religion elapses are being: arranged. The present outlook is that tho conferences confer-ences will be well attended, although church oificials point out that th.s is a busy season wltn most of tho farmis. Every church auxiliary alms to make its sessions the most interesting1 ever held. Months 01 preparation and careful study will have preceded the sessions. Xew ideas and means for increasing efficiency have been carefully gone over by members mem-bers of the general boards. Owing to tho infruenza epidemic interfering inter-fering seriously with the outl'ned courses of study, some of the auxiliaries, such as the M. I. A., wll!, take the outlined work for last year as the course of study for this year. The Boy Scout movement will also be given greater consideration this year, together with specialization on junior class work for bovs. The Boy Scout M. I. A. band will appear ap-pear during the M. I. A. conference Already Al-ready plans for using scouts as ushers on the Temple blocks are under way. Hundreds of Salt Lakers are receiving: letters from their relatives and friends asking that reservations be made for them, either in the homes or at hotels. The presiding bishopric of the church are asking that they be notified where accommodations ac-commodations may be had, in case the expected overflow attendance is realized. Prospects are that outdpor sessions, as well, as overflow meetings in the Assembly As-sembly hall, will have to be held on Sunday, Sun-day, June 1. President Keber J. Grant will officiate as presiding officer at a general conference confer-ence of the church for the first time. Many changes have been made -in the personnel of the general authorities by death. The successors will be voted upon. |
