LONDON', Nov; lS.-r-Premier Lloyd George declared in the house of commons com-mons today that no person at any time, on his behalf, or with his knowledge, had interviewed Bolshevik representatives representa-tives in order to learn whether negotiations negotia-tions for peace might be opened and upon what terms. The premier announced that it was proposed to call at an early date an international in-ternational conference at which the ministers of the allied aud associated powers might consider the various problems prob-lems which the peace conference as yet bad found itself uuabte to settle, among which was the problem of Russia. -Referring to the so-called peace advances ad-vances by the Bolsheviki, Mr. Lloyd (Jeorge said the allies had always declined de-clined to take action on communications communica-tions purporting to come from hostile countries through irresponsible agencies, agen-cies, and he thought it inadvisable to depart from this practice. Admits "Reds' " Success. He admitted that the Bolsheviki were rapidly approachiug Omsk. Admiral Kolchak was still there however, aud the fate of the place would only be decided de-cided as the result of the buttles that might be fought shortly in front of the city. The settlement of the Russian problem, prob-lem, said the premier, was most essential essen-tial to the reconstruction of the world. The conditions in that country, he declared, de-clared, were a contributing cause to prevailing pre-vailing high prices. Likewise, he said, the German reactionaries were already using the present strife in Russia to strengthen their influence. |
