Show BULGARIAN TREATY. Examination of tho Bulgarian peace terms discloses the intention of the allied al-lied powers to prescribe for the Bulbars Bul-bars the same antidote for militarism aud reckless autocracy which was forced down the throats of the German Ger-man und Austrian people. The presumption pre-sumption is that the same sort of howl which went up from Berlin and Vienna will ascend from Sofia when the terms t are fully digested by the Bulgarians. There is a very material alteration of Bulgarian frontiers to the advantage advan-tage of thoso nations which Bulgaria sought to crush at the bidding of the central powers, and stipulations as to reparations", military establishments and the like are drastic enough to insure in-sure Bulgarian good -behavior in future. fu-ture. Of the governments against which the allies battled in the long years of the world war, that of Bulgaria Bul-garia was the least respectable and least entitled to consideration, for Bulgaria Bul-garia commercialized her convictions and entered into a sordid bargain with the central powers at a moment when tjcrman arms itemed to be making headway to victory. Her share in the conspiracy to walk roughshod over .the libertiea of Europe was perhaps the most contemptible. The terms having been-made known, the Bulgars will tc permitted to scan the conditions for a more or less extended ex-tended period, after .which tho delegates dele-gates of the Sofia government will take their pens in hand, and, emulating their brothers in misfortune, painfully, reluctantly, re-luctantly, but none the less diligently, set about to subscribe their individual and collective assent. Aud now for the unspeakable Turk! |
