Show MINI Ml DEAD OF STROKESATUROAY Phillip Maitland Macgregor, Interested in Railroad and Colonization Work, ! Phillip Maitland Macgregor, well known , Salt .Lake mining man, died yesterday at the family residence, 463 yixth avenue. Death followed a stroke of paralysis Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. Mr. Macgregor was born In India forty-seven forty-seven years ago, the son of a British officer, of-ficer, lie was educated in the public schools of England and was commissioned an officer In the British army from the 'Woolwich military school. He participated In some of the English colonization movements move-ments in Kansas, and later graduated from the School of Mines at Golden, Colo., after which he became interested in mining min-ing and railroad activities In the west. With the organization of the local food administration, Mr. MacGregor was placed at the head of the license and regulations division, and rendered invaluable service in the conservation of foods. Besides his widow, Mrs. Vinle Sherradcn Macgregor, Mr. Macgregor is survived by two daughters, now attending school at Boulder, Colo. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. |
