Show BIG ORDERS PLACED IN ATHLETIC GOODS ; To suppl" the demand for baseball outfits out-fits for United States troops overseas, ; the Knights of Columbus, in addition Lo the immense quantity of baseball supplies already sent abroad, have placed an order for 2000 more outfits, each consisting of twelve balls, six bats, nine gloves, a mask and a chest protector. ; The Knights have also placed an order for immediate delivery of 10,000 pairs ot boxing gloves. ; Manufacturers abroad were a:iked to figure on these supplies p.nc1 sonic of them submitted samples. Two or three sound whacks bursted the baseballs, their , bais were easUy shattered and their boxing box-ing gloves fell apart after brief service. American-made goods were then ordered. |
