Show OURAY, Colo., Oct. 21. Determined to keep this city free from the ravages of Spanish influenza if the enforcing of a strict quarantine will do so, a number of armed citizens of Ouray, members of the home guard, left late today for the mountain moun-tain pass which leads from here to S 11-verton 11-verton and Telluride to intercept and turn back residents of those two districts reported re-ported to be fleeing to Ouray in the hope of avoiding the epidemic. Reports reached here today that more than 100 miners were leaving the Silver-ton Silver-ton camp, where the disease is epidemic, and coming here. Red Mountain road, high up in the San Juan mountains, traverses the only pass between the two mining camps, and the home guards propose pro-pose to halt the invasion there. |
