Show BRIGHAM RED CROSS , PLANS BIG FUNCTIONj NovbI Entertainment Is to Be Given, ApTil 21 to 28, for Purpose of Raising Funds. Special to The Tribune. i BRIGHAM CITY, April 13. Great activity exists in the local Ecd Cross headquarters, "While the scores of womea of the city are putting in many hours each day sewing in the many club-rooms on the third floor of the First National bank building, the committees com-mittees are busily engaged planning means by which funds can be raised to I continue the work now in progress. Yesterday Yes-terday a special committee met at headquarters head-quarters to devise means for raising tunds. Helgar J. Packer was named as chairman of the committee and Airs. A. G. Frank, secretary. It was decided to conduct a Red Cross Community week from April 21 to 28. For this 'event an advertising committee, composed of Mrs. E. M. Tyson, Ty-son, Victor E. Madsen, V. K. Holmes and Miss Trieste Box was named. The daily programme committee named is composed of Mrs. Norman Lee, Mrs. .Orion Jensen, E. M. Tyson, W. I. Hoist and Frank Rasmussen. Many novel features will be staged in the. city during community week, such as bazaars, luncheons, 'baseball games, dances and white elephant sales. The local Red Cross is low on funds, and tho campaign to be waged during the early spring will cover every : conceivable means ot raising money with which to carry on the work. Up to date the local chapter has sent out the following goods: S2SS surgical dressings, 3306 hospital garments, 392 hospital supplies, 971 knitted articles. |
