Tt was at this meeting that Mr. riees, who was already a member of the distributing commit tee, was chosen to head the "blue card" campaign and was given full authority to proceed in the manner thought best by him. Scores Offer Services. The live captains who were named to aid Mr. Reese in his campaign in the city are: John .D, Giles, northeastern district; A. J. Elgren, southeastern district; T. T. Burton, southwestern district; Wilford A. Berkley, northwestern district, and George S. Spencer, in the extreme south ;md eastern district. Scores of men, women and young people peo-ple of the city have offered their services aH canvassers for the "blue card" campaign, cam-paign, and no fear is felt that there will not be sufficient workers to thoroughy cover the entire city. The blue cards are cards issued by the 1 government which are orders upon the postmaster for war savings and thrift stamps. The cards merely have to be ruled in with the name of the person desiring- the stamps, and the amount he wants, and then dropped into the mail box. They go to the nearest postmaster without postage and he sends the amount of stamps ordered to the person ordering them by the mail carrier. The mail carrier collects on delivery for the stamps. . The object of the drive In the city is to V place these cards in every household in the city and then to urge the recipient J t o fill out the card with an order for liamps and send it to the postmaster. To Enlist Teachers. State Director George T. Odell yesterday yester-day appointed C. H. Skidmore, superintendent superin-tendent of the Brlgham City schools, and It. II. Stewart, school supervisor or the same place, as assistants to Louis S. Pond, county chairman for Boxelder county. Manager R. L. Shirk of the local office of the American Express company yesterday yester-day notified the state director of war savings that his company will act as agent for the sale of war and thrift stamps throughout the United States. The state committee has made arrangements arrange-ments to have two speakers address the opening session of the Utah Educational association convention in the tabernacle Wednesday afternoon.
