H.U1RY CRAM and Miss Dorothy Jenkinson entertained at tea yesterday afternoon at the Cram home on Wall street, in compliment to their sister. Miss Margaret Jenkinson, who will he married next Monday to Edmund Ed-mund Judge Kearns. The entertainment was also In celebration of the birthday of the guest of honor. Cathedral candlesticks at cither end of the table held yellow candles. can-dles. Jn the living-room asters and snapdragons snap-dragons in rose shades were used for decoration. Presiding at the tea table were Mrs. Henry N. Byrne. Mrs. C. A. Quiglcy, Mrs. Thomas Kearns and Mrs. J. F. 1- unn. The hostesses were assisted in receiving by their mother, Mrs. C H. Jenkinson. Assisting In the dining-room were Miss Gertrude Oeoehegan, Miss Kathleen Geoghegan, Miss Helen Hanna. Miss Florelle Johnson. Miss Josephine Jenkinson, Miss Dora Thomas and Mrs. Ernest R. Hill. Utile Miss Mary Elizabeth Cram received re-ceived the guests' cards at the door. One hundred and fifty Invitations were issued. Mrs. Lawrence Bennett gave a luncheon lunch-eon at the Rotisserle Inn yesterdav at 1 o'clock in compliment to Miss Jenkinson. A basket of yellow chrysanthemums was the centerpiece for the table. Covers were laid for ten. Mrs. K. C. Pairweather received her friends informally yesterdav afternoon at her home on Twelfth Kast street, as a farewell before leaving Wednesday for New York with her husband to make her home. Marigolds in a bowl formed the centerpiece cen-terpiece for the tea table, on a lace cover. Various fall gardon flowers were used about the room. The hostess was assisted assist-ed by Mrs. Elizabeth H. Coray, Miss Dorothy Bailey, Miss Hollister Hancock, Miss Frances Evans, Miss Marjorie Dey and Mrs. H. T. Kirtley. A dinner will be given Friday evening at the Hotel Utah, by the Salt Lake Dental Den-tal association, in honor of Dr. and Mrs. FairviBather. Mrs. F. L. Wilson will en-tertaiw en-tertaiw Monday evening at tea ln honor of Mrs. Falrweather. Mrs. Horace B. Whitney entertained at luncheon yesterday at her home on Fourth avenue in honor of Mrs. Harold Smoot of Washington. Marigolds were used as aj.centerpieco for the luncheon table. Covers were laid for twelve. The Alpha Chi sorority of the University Univer-sity of Utah entertained at a bridge tea yesterday afternoon at the home of Miss Ruth Senior. In honor of the high school graduates who will be freshmen at the university this year. Yellow chrysanthemums in a . basket, with a yellow mallne bow on the handle, formed an effective centerpiece for the tea table. Garden flowers were used throughout the house. The committee on arrangements Included In-cluded Miss Florence Davis, Miss Elizabeth Eliza-beth Prosser and Miss lluth Senior. The other members of the sorority are Miss Mary Snedden, Miss Florence De Rosa, Miss Amy Silver, Miss Edna Calderwood, Miss Bessie Marks, Miss Captola Plngree, Miss June Street, Miss Afton Davis, Miss Phyllis Brown, Miss Helen Cortez, Miss Margaret Hinckley, Miss Mildred Barton and Miss Elva Taylor. The Sigma Chi fraternity of the University Uni-versity of Utah entertained last -evening at a dancing party at its chapter house, 1395 East First South street. The members mem-bers of the fraternity who have just received re-ceived commissions and will leave Thursday Thurs-day for their various posts were the guests of honor. They are Lieutenant Jack Harrington, Lieutenant Clyde Rom-nev, Rom-nev, Lieutenant George Waring, Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Glen Miller, Lieutenant Eugene Sloan and Lieutenant Wllford Romney. The alumnae members of the fraternity and friends of the active chapter also were guests. Flags were used in decorating, giving a military air to the entertainment. Barnes entertained at her homo on Third East street at bridge luncheon yesterday, in compliment to Mrs. Andrew Gorey. who will leave to day to join her husband. Lieutenant Gorey, who Is stationed in Texas, and of Miss Le Trice Belcher, who has recently re-cently returned from a visit to Texas. The luncheon table had an ivory basket bas-ket of purple asters as a centerpiece, and the place cards were hand painted in asters. Bridge followed luncheon. Chamberlain entertained the Busy' Twelve club in its first meeting of the season yesterday afternoon at her home on Twelfth East street. Luncheon was served to the twelve club members.
