Show NEGRO TROOPERS HAVE CLASH WITH YAQUI INDIANS DOUGLAS, Ariz.", Jan. 10. A detachment de-tachment of United States cavalry yesterday yes-terday encountered baud of Yaqui' Indians In-dians shortly after the Indians had crossed the international boundary line twenty-seven miles west of Nogales, Ariz., captured ten . and mortally wounded oue, according to a message received here by Colonel George H. Morgan. Arizona district commander, from Colonel .1. C. Frier, commander at Nogales. A quantity of arms and ammunition am-munition also was taken from the Indians. In-dians. The captured Yaquis said thev were on their way to the Salt river valley val-ley of Arizona to work in the cotton fields there and that they, had been accustomed ac-customed to come into Arizona for this purpose each year. The troops which had tho clash were negro cavalrvmen. |
