Show City Appointments Made By Council All appointive city positions had been filled by the city council coun-cil Wednesday night, with exception ex-ception of that of city health officer. of-ficer. No application was received receiv-ed for that office and appointment appoint-ment will probably be made next week, City Recorder Eugene Morris states. Named as city employees Wednesday Wed-nesday were Fay Mitchell, superintendent su-perintendent of water and street departments; R. R. Marriott, utility man to be used in police, water and street departments; Stanley P. Davies, reappointed chief of police; R. J. Contratto and Joe Austin, reappointed police po-lice officers; Elliott W. Evans, reappointed city attorney; Alfred Henkel, reappointed re-appointed city justice of peace; Mrs. Anton Smith, reappointed City hall custodian. Only one garbage contract bid was made, by the present holder, Mike Zampos. Mr. Zampos bid $235 a month, the same figure as was granted last year. He was awarded the contract. Beer licenses were approved for James Korobas, Copper Gate; Clarence Johnson, the Rendevu; Sam Sturm, Sturm's cafe; John Feraco, Italian-French Bar; Albert Al-bert Lujan, Butte club; Safewny Stores. The council approved of bond and interest payment in amount of $5000 and $250 interest due January 1, 1940, on the 1928 paving pav-ing bond, Mr. Morris said. Council members have received receiv-ed appointments over city departments depart-ments as follows: Art J. Sorenson, health and building; Francis J. Quinn, finance; C: A. Morley, water and cemetery; Dale Johnston, Johns-ton, streets and sewer; Al J. Ab-lett, Ab-lett, fire departments and Mayor Johnson, public safety. O ! |
