In observance of the 400th anniversary anniver-sary of the Reformation, Sunday, Monday Mon-day and Tuesday will be days of festivity fes-tivity at the Danish Lutheran church of Salt Lake. The Eev. G. B. Christiansen, Chris-tiansen, president for twenty-five years in the Danish Lutheran church in America, will speak at these meetings. Because of his work he was made a knight of Dannebrog by the king of Denmark. Tt is only ton years since the Danish Dan-ish Lutheran church of Salt Lake was established. It has built a place of worship on the corner of E street and First avenue. It has a largo congregation, congrega-tion, a Sunday school well attended, a Ladies' Aid society, Young People's society and is active in other lines of church work. The church was organized by the Rev. Harald Jensen-Kent, now a pastor in Denmark. It has later been served by the Rev. J. Lund, who is how holding hold-ing a pastorate at Hutchinson, Minn. At the present timo the pastor is the Rev. J. C. Carlson, who receivod his education ed-ucation in this country. |
