The annual meeting of the Boxekler county farm bureau was held in this city today and the following were elected officers for the ensuing yeu r: President, John F. Thtfie was a large attendance and the principal feature of the meeting was a general discussion of the sugar beet industry. in-dustry. This bureau will neek an advance ad-vance of beets next year i o $ 1 0 a ton. Tiiis year the bureau is backing a movement move-ment to demand ?li per ton extra for the IV 17 harvest. Formal demands have already al-ready been made upon the sugar com-pa com-pa nies In which reasons are set forth why the demand .should be granted. A resolution was presented denouncing J. . W. Joney, western representative of the department of agriculture in the sugar industry, for alleged favoritism shown the sugar companies against the interests of the farmery, but the farmers of Box-elder Box-elder county flatly refused to adopt the resolution. |
