Hol-man, Hol-man, United States inspector of predatory preda-tory animals, is preparing 2000 furs and skins for shipment to St. Louis. These pelts represent only a part of the catch by government trappers for the month of September in the Utah district, comprising com-prising Utah and the Arizona strip. Tlie furs, will be marketed and will bring probably $7000. Dr. Holman also has about 1500 scalps, taken from predatory preda-tory animals, which have been poisoned by the government hunters and trappers during the month. Coyotes predominate and are followed by wildcats, wolvei and mountain lions, and a few bears, foxes and badgers. There is no effort made to kill the foxes and badgers, nor the bears, except where they contract the habit of killing stock; the foxes and badgers represented rep-resented in tho collection have fallen victims vic-tims to their inquisltlveness around the traps. |
