Show DANISH GOVERNMENT WILL EXPORT SWINE COPENHAGEN. Oct. 28. The Danish government food council, after considering consider-ing the growing difficulties of supplying the home population with an adequate ration of fats, has rejected the proposed prohibition upon (he export of swine, and, instead, :-:00,0O0 swine will be slaughtered and reserved for the population of the towns. Farmers will be permitted to kill swine for their own use and the balance will be available for export. It is stated that both Germany and England have expressed ex-pressed themselves as satisfied with this arrangement. Butter cards allowing a weektv ration of a half-pound, at half a dollar a pound, will be introduced. The government will assume the linanciaJ burden of nearlv 50.-000,000 50.-000,000 crowns involved and will reserve enough butter from export to provide this ration. Milk and cream cards are also proposed. It is recommended that all lard he reserved re-served for the poor and distributed bv the municipalities to the classes which are subject to government war relief measures. The food council's report embodving these provisions will be presented to the rigsdag for action. |
