District Freight Agent, With Headquarters Here. Claude E. Baker, agent for the Oregon Short Line at Idaho Falls, will succeed H. E. Godwin aa district freight agent for the company In tail Lake. Announcement Announce-ment of Mr. Baker's promotion was made yesterdao afternoon by J. X. Reeves, general freight agent. Mr. Baker will assume his new duties March 1, at which time Mr. Godwin will become aasistant general freight agent, bucceeding the late O. Ira Tuttle. Mr. Baker i the son of Mr. and Mrs-J. Mrs-J. M. Baker of 514 North Second West street. Salt Lake City. He waa born in Bloomlngton. IncL. but, while a boy. the family moved to Marysville. Mo. There he learned telegraphy and entered the employ of the Wabash railroad. His father fa-ther and motiier came to Salt Lake In 189a bat Mr. Baker remained with the abash at Marysville until six years 1 later. He then cam to Utah and entered en-tered the telegraph and station service of t he Oregon Hhort Line. Later he waa placyj in charge of the station accounts In the auditor's office. Mr. Baker held the position until about four years ago. when he waa appointed agnt at Idaho Falls.
