Show PROHIBITION LEAGUE HOLDS MEETING HERE Officers of the Prohibition and Betterment Better-ment league of Utah met here yesterday yester-day and discussed plans for a campaign to make Utah a "dry" state. It was decided de-cided to have a paid campaigner, to be hired jointly by the league and the Antl-Saloon Antl-Saloon Learue of America. The paid campaigner and an executive committee of five to assist him will be appointed by the league within a few days. The league sent greetings and words oi encouragement to the "dry" voters of Murray and Myton. Utah, where the people peo-ple will vote on the liquor question under the local option law next week. At the conclusion of the meeting a statement signed by Heber J. Grant president, pres-ident, and .lohn Henry Evans, secretary, setting forth some of the alms of the league, 'as issued. The statement declared, among other things, that the league would work for nothing short of a state-wide prohibition law bv legislative enactment. It also denounced de-nounced the Greater Utah Business league as an anti-prohibltlon society. |
