Show MEXICANS PLAN CINCO DE MAYO HOLIDAY FETE The Mexican Honorary commission com-mission of Bingham Canyon is busily making plans for the annual an-nual May 5 (Cinco de Mayo) celebration cel-ebration held each year in corn- memoration of the defeat of the French army by General Igna-cio Igna-cio Zaragoza and his army at Puebla, Mexico, by which Mexico Mexi-co retained independence. Observance of the Mexican holiday will be held Monday, May 6, at the Legion Civic Center at 7:30 p.m. at which time an interesting inter-esting program will be given, featuring talks by Consul Enrique Enri-que L. Elizondos, Mexican consul at Salt Lake City, and Manuel Serrato, secretary to the consul. Members of the local Mexican commission, including Jess Avila, president, will also speak. Music for dancing will be furnished by the Hot Shots under direction of Sammy Garcia. Arrangements are being made by Mr. Avila, Alex Hurtado, Mr. Garcia, Albert Al-bert Perez and Carlos Chavez. |
