Show WOODS CROSS PROUD OF ATHLETIC CLUB : Roberts and Hatch Represented Organ-i Organ-i ization in 1916 State Meet and Both Are Champions. Woods Cross has an athletic association associa-tion of which the community may well be proud. It has been in existence about two years and during that time many mat artists have been discovered. Mike Yokel has been out a number of times to give them points on wrestling and the farmer boys have shown a great improvement under his leadership and bid fair to distinguish themselves in the boxing and wrestling tournament. Last year two of the boys won the right to represent the club at San Francisco. Fran-cisco. Rex Roberts won the 115-pound and Robert Hatch the 145-pound wrestling wres-tling championships. The most promising material for this vear are W. Hatch, W. Brvson, E. Grant. ! R Hatch. C. Roberts. Ray Hatch. Rex Roberts. X. Nelson, S. Haacke, O- Wad-doups. Wad-doups. X Howard. Van Strlngham. McDonald Mc-Donald and Price. The officers of the club are ; Presl -dent. Elgin Roberts; vice president. Glenn Hatch : secretary-treasurer. William Wil-liam Wlnegar. Jr.; manager. George B. Mann ; assistant manager, J. g. Ar-buckle. Ar-buckle. The association has an exhibition and a dance each week. The receipts are used to maintain the club. |
