Every day brings additional worry to t !oach?s Norgrcn and Breathed on account of the Crimson line. Tt has been known riabt along that this department de-partment would: be much weaker than tha backtield, but it had been hoped that enough men pdujd be developed among the recruits to plug the holes. But in spite of the hard work and daily scrimmages scrim-mages which the llneemen are being put through, a strong line is not among the preoent probabilities. The varsity baeknld tears through the varsity line as it' it were paper, and even the freshmen fresh-men can make their yard?. The men are always recei ving minor injuries, a fact which the coaches believe be-lieve indicates a lack of football in-Tint. in-Tint. The coaches want to sec more fight in the men, and are tickled at the plucky manner in which Brokmeyer has returned to tbo squad. Even though there if a booe broken in his wrist, Brok has patched up the injury and wants to play. Many of the line candidates can-didates are comparatively new to football, foot-ball, and may, therefore, develop the ncessan fighting spirit before the eea son has far advanced. This is the chief hope of the school. Head-on Collision. An accident occurred yesterday which was thought serious at first, but later turned out to bo of only minor consequences. conse-quences. Bunnv Wilson and Captain Roy Melntyre "both tore in to tackle the same man in scrimmage practice and met in a head-on collision. Both were badly jarred up, but the scientific head-guards supplied to all the men broke the force of the blow. He already al-ready has more than thirty signed up to report, but wants to get as many more as possible to take part in the scrimmage. All old men, who want to play, should see Tillie or else report to the -'I7' gymnasium Saturday afternoon after-noon at 2 o'clock. Then, too, it will be probably the only time this year that the public may aee "p's Norgren and .Tohnny Breathed buck the line. They will play a portiou of the game for the old fellers. The principal object of the workout Saturday will be to give the varsity a good practice and to teach them some of the finer points of the game, which could not be shown proper! v except in battle.
