A city aquatic championship series o:' suimmin,g meuts will be held beginning next AVednesday night v.Mth the Sanitarium, Sani-tarium, Desert t and L,. D. S. liigh school Leaina competing. Some of the be3t swimmers in the state are members of one or another of thee teams and some interesting m:t should Vie tho result. Mauley and SliL-nke are two of the best bets oi' t lie Kan tea in and w 3 th several other last fiwiinmcrs as nu-tiubers of this team tliey should make things hum. In the 4 -10 -yard tate championship ywim. held a month or two ;:igo, Mauley won tlrst place for his team and is holder of that cup at the present time. Shenke also has one or two state records to his credit and should make thing's Interesting for any entrant in distances of which he ia champion. The Daaeret team has several swimmers swim-mers who are holders of state records. Chief ainonjr these irf Eugene Glenn, who holds five stale tHles and who con be relied upon, to swim at a fast clip in any race from twenty yards up to -1-40. Lisle Smith and Harry Jeson are two other fust swimmers of the Deseret team. As representatives of the I.. i. S. hish ?ehoui there will lie Allen Oroesbeek, Jude Burton, Yin y Taylor, Wellsby Ta liner li-ner and Scott jSahlrjuist. Although no st-ate records are held by members of this ten m 1 hey are a pretty fast bunch of youngfi ers and should give their older opponents a tussle in the tournament for the citv championship.
