Show ROBINSON CHOSEN MAYOR AT BOISE Defeats Incumbent of the Office by the Vote of 2027 to 1427. Special to The Tribune. ; BOISE, April 6. The campaign for 1 a city manager won out in Boise today, Jeremiah W. Eobinson being elected mayor and city manager by a clear majority ma-jority over his opponent, Arthur Hodges, present mayor, of 600. Kobiiisou received re-ceived a total of 2027 votes and Hodges 1427. Robinson's campaign, slogan was, ''Boise is about to elect a municipal manager. " He is a prominent citizen, having been deputy United States assayer here, and for manv years engaged in the banking business. At one time he was strongly mentioned as a possible appointee as director of the mint. The election was held under the Black commission form of government law, which Boise lias been under for four years. Four nominations wore made for commissioners, as follows: John A. Davis and Edwin Herring ton, present commissioners; H. M. Buck and Charles S. MeConnell. A second election to choose thft commissioners v.ill ,bo held in thrco weeks. |
