Show TWENTIETH INFANTRY TO RETURN TO UTAH Commander of Eighth Brigade Declares De-clares Troops Will Be Sent to Fort Douglas. Special to The Tribune. EL PASO, Tex., Sept. 21. The Twentieth Twen-tieth infantry, which is now encamped at Fort Bliss, Tex., and at Fort Wineate, N. M., will return to Fort Douglas, Utah, when the troops are ordered away from the Mexican border. Adjutant General "William R. Sample of the Eighth brigade said today that the Twentieth would return to its home station near Salt Lake as soon as the troops were sent away from the border for their winter stations. The Twentieth has been on the border for nearly a year and a battalion has been guarding the 5M0 prisoners at Fort Wingate, N'. r., who have been released re-leased and are being returned to Mexico. No time has yet been set for the removal re-moval of the border troops, but all medical medi-cal officers, commissary men and other special details have been ordered to leave the border and this is believed to be an indication that the border brigade will be disbanded soon. |
