Show INDIAN TROUBLE IS NEARING SETTLEMENT It Is Said That Red Men Will Surrender Surren-der Two of Their Number Wanted by Officers. No further attempts were made Yesterday Yes-terday to secure the surrender of "the fnd ians near hiterooks, who are hold- I ing two of their number wanted by Sheriff Hatch Murray of Vernal. The authorities there have adopted a "watchful waiting" policy with tho Indians, believing they will surrender within a few davs. They have been given until the end of "this moon" to bring in the men wanted. L. W. Curry, the Indian trader from Ouray, who went out Saturdav and interviewed in-terviewed the Indians, sent the following follow-ing telegram to The Tribune last night from Vernal: Absolutely no excuse for excitement excite-ment over tho shooting of Justice neorge Bartlctt by Indian Tony. The other Indians do not sustain him in bis foolish act. Upon visiting vis-iting their camp we found them thoroughly docile and very regretful. |
