Threo of tho banditB kept guard outside out-side and four covored the cashier and the depositors with their revolvers. Thoy soized what monoy was on tho counters and were attempting to forco the cashier to open tho vaults, when a fnsillado of shots outside caused thorn to fleo. Sheriff Mathows of Lewis county and J. L. Smith, town marshal, are in pursuit with posses. The mon aTO said to bo foreigners. Thoy were not masked. |
