Show W. H. Bartcl, Pioneer, Dies. Special to Thc Tribune, IDAHO FALLS, Idaho. April 0. W. H. Bartel one of the oldest, residents of this part of Idaho, died In the hoepltal Tuesdnv evening of pneumonia. Mr. Bartel Bar-tel was brought to thc hospital from Howe about ten days ago, suffering from a sovorc cold, Which had taken so strong ' a hold that it was impossible to shake It off. Ho was a veteran of tho civil war, having served In a New York regiment. regi-ment. Ho came west Mon after tho civil of tho war and was In Aider Gulch In Montana In thc early days of that famous mining camp. In 1SS3 ho caino to Idaho anil settled In the Lost rlvr country, where ho engaged In the stock business and ran a small store. Hc was "0 years of age and leaves a son and stepdaughter, step-daughter, his wife having died several years ago. |
