Show BIG BOOST FOR UTAH IN SOUTH IS PLANNED Bank Clerics Will Advertise tho State at Convention In Richmond. Utah will Boon' have a booth established estab-lished In the Hotel Richmond, in Richmond. Rich-mond. , Va, In which will be an ample supply of literature on Utah and also an exhibit of the products of the slate, according ac-cording to the plans of tho delegates from hero to the annual convention of the American Institute of Banking. The convention will be held in Richmond, September 17, IS and 19, and the delegates dele-gates will leave at noon today. They will go by rail to Washington and thero will continue the trip by boat to Richmond. Rich-mond. Included in the supplies for the exhibit Is a generous supply of Utah peaches, which will bo distributed among the delegates from less favored states. Tho first meeting of the Utah chapter of the season wjls held last night in the Commercial club and plans discussed for the coming work, in addition to a hearty farewell being tendered the departing delegates. Those going lo represent Utah are John Bond of Walker Brothers bank, Royal C. Barnes of the Deseret National bnnk and Otto Hocbel of the National Copper bank. Q. B. Kelly of the Citizens State bank of EIngham will also attend tho convention as a member of the national chapter. The four men arc among the leaders In tho work of the Inslltuto and have always taken an active interest in its behalf. Education work for th coming season was discussed, but no deflnlto decision reached regarding the programme. The educational commlttoe, entertainment committee and membership committee were all chosen and will begin active work at once. |
