Show drugless healers jseii Practitioner Declares "Regular" "Regu-lar" Physicians Have Legislative Leg-islative Lobby. Dr. Flodnulst, mcchano-thcraplsl, with offices In the Constitution building, is lending the fight In the legislature to secure se-cure the enactment of senate bill No. i23, by Mr, Williams, anact to regulate the practice of druglcss methods for healing. In his efforts to secure the enactment en-actment of Hie measure, Dr. Flodqulst i supported by many other druglcs3 practitioners prac-titioners In the city. The bill provides for the creation of a board of examiners, to bo appointed by tho governor, and all druclcss practitioners practi-tioners will be compelled to undergo and pass a rigid examination, bofore certificates certifi-cates will be Issued to them. Dr Flodqulst said yesterday that tho so-called regular physicians were In charge of an Influential lobby and were doing everything in their powor to defeat the bill. The doctor added that there were now fourteen dniRless phyalclans in the city, whero there wore only about four two years ago, .when the so-culled regular physicians ot a bill through the legislature whloh defined the use of electricity elec-tricity ns medicine. Under this law. Dr. Flodqulst, who uses electricity largely in hla practice, Is subject to arrest for practicing prac-ticing medicine without a license, but he says that he Is willing to face this charge at any time. The druglcss healers who are Included In the bill are practitioners In hydrotherapy, hydro-therapy, electro-therapy, scientific massage, mas-sage, Swedish movement, chiropractic, mechano-thcrapy, or naturopath). Dr. Flodqulst said yesterday that the druglcss healers only asked a square deal and that they desired to appear beforo tho committee on health and labor, which has tho bill under consideration, and explain ex-plain their position. It Is understood that the drugless prac-tltlonors prac-tltlonors will be given an opportunity this week to moot with the committee. |
