Coles, 1534 Edi-son street, Salt Lake City, an-nounces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Wilva Coles, to S. Edgar Fern ley, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Fernley, 862 Diestel road, Salt Lake City. The wedding will take place in early June. The bride-elec- t is an accom-plished musician and has been studying in Seattle, Wash., the past winter. She came home yes-terday. Mr. Fernley is studying at the George Washington university at Washington, D. C, and will come home about June 8 for the wed-ding. After the marriage the cou-ple will make their home in Washington, D. C. Mr. Fernley formerly lived in Bingham Canyon and was em-ployed at the Utah Copper com-pany mines office. He has also been a student at the University of Utah. Thirteen ta-bles of bridge were in play and prizes were given Mrs. William Cook and Mrs. Irvin Stillman. Mrs. Clarence Robison won house prize. A two course luncheon was served. Birthday Party The ninth birthday of Briggie Knudsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Knudsen of Copperton, was celebrated Sunday by a group of friends at a gay party in his honor. Movies were taken, games played and a luncheon served. The two huge cakes were iced in pink and white, colors used in all decorations. Indivi-dual ice cream square, with "Birthday" written across the Mr. and Mrs. John Robertson, Mr. William Robertson, Mrs. Jo-seph Kemp ami Mrs. W. H. Tre-varthe- Mrs. Marcus Roudebush is the only other charter member now living in Bingham. Grand officers and charter members were presented with gifts, hand made sachets for the ladies and memorandum books for the men. Mrs. James Bark chairman and was assisted by chapter members. Bowls of tulips about the hall and center-pieces of lilacs and bridal wreath on the banquet tables gave a spring atmosphere to the room Placecards were hand painted baskets filled with candy. A farewell reception for Mrs. Hal Reherd was given following the visitation by her mother, Mrs. Barkle of Copperton, Mrs. Re-her- d and children will sail from Seattle, Wash., May 18 to join her husband in Anchorage, Alas-ka. Mrs. Lester Sumnicht pre-sented Mrs. Reherd with a gift from officers of the chapter. . Birthday Party Mrs. John Turner was hostess at a party Monday afternoon in , honor of her daughter, Elva Kay, on her second birthday.
