Show HOUSE BILL CREATES LIVESTOCK DEPARTMENT The creation of a state department of livestock is proposed in house bill No. 1C0. introduced in the house Tuesday by Hayes of Utah. The bill authorizes the governor H appoint a stale Inspector of livestock, at a aalary of S.'MOO a year, with expenses not to exceed 5500 a year. The lns))ector Is lo investigate all cases of contagious and infectious diseases among any livestock, cxccpl scabies in sheep, and Is given authority to order quarantines when such action appears to him to be necessary. He also is empowered empow-ered to appoint deputies when nccessarv. The state chemist Is to assist the Inspector Inspec-tor In every way possible. These provisions are followed by others providing for the Inspection of animals and other matters connected with the health of livestock. |
