Three great railroad systems were put out of commission com-mission on thc-lr trunk lines east and south out of Los -Angeles for several hour? today by the blowing up of acres of rock with what Is said to have been tho largest bla3t of dynamite ever set off in the west. It Is estimated that 30.000 yards of rock were broken up by the explosion, and the track of the Santa Fe railroad, closo by. was covered by boulders and debris four feet deep for a distance of 150 feet. This track was also being used by the Salt Lake Route and the Southern Pacific pending repairs to their own lines damaged by floods.
