Show SOCIALIST STREET MEETING SCENE OF MORE DISORDER Albert Brilliant, a Socialistic sympathizer, sympa-thizer, was arrested by Patrolman Illnton Tuesday night at the Intersection of Second Sec-ond South and, State streets and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with interfering with an officer. He was released later upon depositing $20 bail. During the Socialistic speaking the speaker's stand was surrounaed by soldiers. sol-diers. Nothing was done by any of the soldiers to molest the spcaKcr until a. soldier started an argument with a bystander, by-stander, who had requested the soldier to make less noise so that the speaking could be heard. In the resulting argument argu-ment both men began to fight, and after clinching fell to the street. Then tho surging crowd pushed over the speaker's stand. Patrolmnn Hlnton arrested the bystander by-stander and when asked by Brilliant and a number of others in the crowd why he did not arrest the soldier also, he took Brilliant to police headquarters with the bystander who had been fighting with the soldier. Tho bystander was released without being booked and Brilliant was placed In jail. |
