Show UTAH DELEGATION IN MfflSS UTICISED Eastern Business Men Want Representative to Cease Opposition Op-position to Industries. Members of the building committee of tho Commercial club met with the board of governors of the club Monday Mon-day noon aud then the party went to the new club building and inspected the interior. The work is progressing as rapidly as could be expected, and none of the club members wns disappointed disap-pointed in the inspection. Jn the business session petitions from a half dozen or morc boards of trade in cities of the cast were referred to the governors asking their support for tho iorest roservo movement in New England, These petitions called attention atten-tion to the fact that tho cast had supported sup-ported the movement for forest reserves and conservation in the-west and nslcd that the influence of tho Salt Lake business men be used towards .inducing .induc-ing tho Utah representatives iu congress con-gress to cease lighting for the death of the industries of the cast. The lotfer from the board of trade at Manchester, N. H., says: "The water wa-ter supply of the northeast is fniling, shrinking, and your congressmen refuse a remedy. "Isn't it fair that you treat us as we treat you? Is it right-.that through your congressmen you aro fighting the very life of .your fellow men on tho seaboard V These communications were referred to the committee on laws and legislation legisla-tion for investigation und report.. Wickett, manager of the intermountain in-termountain department of the New York Life Insurance companj', and Lyttlcton Price, president of the Sevier Ttivcr Land & Water company, were elected ns resident members of the club, and G. B. Holleran of Lvnn. who is alBo connected with the Sevier River Land & Water company, was elected a non-resident member. |
