I Railroad passenger officials estimate the conference travel Into Salt Lake this -week at 12,000 people. This is based upon the .unusual crowd that has al-xeady al-xeady come in, which is lnrgcr by far than for many years past. The chief scene of competition is between Ogdcn Bjf and Salt Lake created by tho oporutlon IM of the hourly electric cars. Both tho Rio Grande aiid the Short Line have daily Davis county specials leaving- Ogdcn Og-dcn each morning and returning each night, and both trains hid fair to make a goodly showing. The Rio Grande and , the Salt Lnko Route are working for the traffic south and both have sent do2ons of extra cars to those sections reached by their rails to prepare- for the incoming crowd. The Rio Grande sent down twenty extra cars on Sunday trains and distributed them all along tho lines, to Tlntic, to Sanpotc valley and on the main line. The Western Pacific has an extra conch on its train from Grantsvlllo to handle that crowd. Taken altogether, the week ought to show up splendidly and with the first storm over with, the weather outlook Is for sunny days, which will have Its effect ef-fect upon the travel. |
